Branding: Tea of the Moth

Tea of the Moth is a New England based subscription service with a unique premise. Every month features a new species of moth to learn about and a special blend of tea based on their unique qualities. A portion of the proceeds go to insect conservation programs across New England. It’s a subscription service for those who appreciate the underappreciated!

The design goal for Tea of the Moth is to create a brand that feels organic and educational without talking down to subscribers.

Custom Artwork

A brand like this needs custom artwork to stand out from the rest of the subscription services out there. Each moth was referenced from their real-life counterpart and then filtered through my digital painting style. I wanted to take a stylized and graphic approach while still retaining the real-life details that other artists may not notice.

Social Media

Subscription-based services have lots of opportunities for fun social media posts. I set up a Brand Kit in Canva using TOTM’s colors and assets and and crafted a range of posts for different purposes.

Monthly Offerings & Other Products

Subscribers receive a unique monthly tea blend based on a New England species of moth and an information card with custom artwork. Promotional emails provide previews of upcoming blends and other news from the website. Simple, educational, and stylish! More merchandise offerings will be possible as the brand grows in popularity.
