MakerBattle 2024

MakerBattle is a combat robotics tournament where competitors pit 1lb robots against each other for bragging rights and other prizes. It’s as fun as it sounds! This year I designed the main logo that was used for all the MakerBattle 2024 branding including the advertising, livestream graphics, merch, and the MakerBattle cage itself.

STEAM Summer Workshop 2023

I joined the MakerspaceCT team as a designer for the STEAM Summer Workshop skateboard and mini drone classes. My job was to talk to each student, learn about what designs they wanted on their skateboards/drones, and brainstorm ways to bring their ideas to fruition using the equipment at the makerspace.

To prep for the workshop I got the skateboard dielines + drone dimensions and created a menu of vector designs for laser engraving and vinyl decal cutting. This menu of designs was presented as an option/starting point and not a requirement. Most students had their own ideas of what they wanted to design after they saw what was possible. I spent most of my time working with the students to create the custom vector graphics on the spot as well as showing them how to apply their decals with transfer tape.

Drone Week meant working with very small decals. Some were as small as 2.5mm!
